56th death anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar is being celebrated all over country. On December 6, lakhs of people are expected to throng the holy Chaityabhoomi in Dadar, Mumbai where Dr. Ambedkar’s last rites were performed in 1956.
The DoP had issued commemorative postage stamps in honour of Babasaheb Ambedkar on three occasions in the past, on his birth anniversaries in 1966 and 1973, and on the occasion of the birth centenary in 1991. The then Minister of Communications, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan released a special definitive stamp on 110th Birth Anniversary.
